Let me preface this, I will not be going back anytime soon... nor will my family or friends.....
The Gambinos Pizza in Gore,OK has decently digestible food, but the customer service skills of the staff is sorely lacking on all fronts, and the restaurant could qualify for Restaurant Impossible's make over, when it comes to the decor inside.
On this past July 7th, I went to visit my inlaws with my husband, because they were having computer issues. As dinner time drew closer, different places were being batted around for dinner options. It was mentioned Gambinos might be an option. Since 2 of the 4 of us had not been to Gambinos, it was decided to try it. We all figured what we wanted, the order was called in, and we waited a bit before heading to pick it up.
After a bit of a wait, we then headed out to the restaurant to go pick up our order to take home for consumption for dinner.
But upon our arrival to pick up the order, we were not greeted by any staff at the counter initially. When someone finally did greet us, it was only because the cook saw us enter and approach the counter through the small service, pass through window.
Once the cook recognized we were there, a young lady came out, she was told we were there to pick up our order. She went back to the kitchen to get the ticket and had to use a menu to ring up the order of a deluxe spaghetti, 2 lasagna's, and a Spicy Pepperoni Sandwich.
The young lady gave off the distinct attitude and aura of not wanting to be there. She had no smile what so ever, or polite greeting for us.
When the order was done, she came out and sat the order stacked up on the counter, and took another order over the phone, before returning to the kitchen, without checking on waiting guests in the lobby of the restaurant.
We picked up the order off the counter and, left the establishment to head home. Upon getting the food home and figuring out the unmarked containers to see who's was who's, the majority agreed it was better than expected, the lasagna had to much sauce and needed more body, and the sandwich could blow your ears clean off your skull.
The fact that we were not greeted, and when were the young lady had no smile or greeting, makes my party not want to go back for a repeat visit. If the staff would remember the customer is number one, they could do better, and soar beyond the moon.
So, if you are looking for that "just digestible meal with a staff with no customer service skills" then Gambinos is the stop for you.
But if you are looking for a totally different experience try one of the other few restaurants in Gore.(I hear the tea room is excellent.)

In addition to all of that I am helping to spread the word about a new mobile communications app rolling out soon, and I have 3 invites to give out to that, to interested parties, tech geeks/gurus. ( If you are interested you can drop me a line at youngavonmom@yahoo.com, with your email address & first/last name, I will send you one of the 3 remaining invites I have. )

Back to the Blog -Day 2
As part of getting back to blogging with some encouragement from the Better Women's Network.
Today's topic to be addressed is :
About making this entry like a story or somthing you can share about your life. An encouraging word, a funny story, or a lovely experience. Think about it showing a part of your persoanlity to your reader. Don't worry too much about it being "perfect". Just be honest and be yourself.
With that in mind here is a little about me.
If you are new to this blog, I currently live in Tahlequah, OK with my husband of (14 years this December, and together 22 years this April.) and our four dogs; our german shepherd mix Cupid, our border collie mix Oreo, our keeshond mix Jackson Andrew, and our bulldog mix Lucky. We are birthparents to a beautiful soon to be 8 year old girl, and a handsome soon to be 4 year old boy.
My husband is a computer technician for the city, and I have multiple businesses I do from home. I sold Avon for 5 years at one point, but my current businesses include the following:
2009 I came on to Taste of Gourmet as an Independent Taste of Gourmet Consultant for the Tahlequah, OK area. I started with them because I enjoy cooking, socializing with my community, and teaching others to cook.
2010 I started with Examiner.com as an examiner. I currently write under three titles. I am the Tahlequah Event Photography Examiner, Tulsa Event Photography Examiner, and the Tulsa Food Examiner. I cover local events, and write about obscure holidays that have food connections, on occasion I share my own recipes I come up with when I work out my receipes for fair competition.(where I have been in the top 10 since 2006.)
2012 I came on to VirtualCelebration.com as a virtual event planner, and that summer I took on curating an online boutique through kitsylane and named it Nannerbugs.
With being a virtual event planner, I help people plan online events, so that if someone they invite to the physical event can not make it, they can still join in by logging into the VirtualCelebration platform, and making a page to create how they want. It basically gives you the control on who you invite to your event, or celebration. You won't have anyone there you don't want, only the ones you do.( Currently have a special of getting your event up for 3 months for $19.99 or one year for $50.)
With having the online boutique Nannerbugs( by the way is what my cousin Susan called me growing up.So that is how the name came about.) I get to set it up the way I see fit, and have the chance to curate my store selection from what Kitsylane offers in their stock they provide. I really do enjoy this. But everyday, I pray that I get sales made. Right now I have a goal, that I personally set of $5900.( which will increase next month if the gal is not met.) The only thing people need to do to have access, is to register their information with my page, and they will have access to savings up to 60% off on new and upcoming designers in the fashion industry.

I am also active in my community volunteering where I can. I am also active in my local UMW unit at my church. I take care of one home, one husband, 4 dogs,etc... So, people have asked me " What don't you do?" The answer is I do plenty, but some is appreciated by recepients, others not so much. But I just chug along like the little engine that could, "I think I can, I think I can, I KNOW I CAN! I also have a couple online events going until the end of the month:
https://www.facebook.com/events/134032110104988/?ref=14
https://www.facebook.com/events/151638421668892/?ref=14 ( this event actually goes a bit longer- it has 10 days and some change left on it. The goal is 1000 shirts before it will ever get made, so I can use all the help I can get on this.) Please pass the word on both events, I would appreciate it.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment, and I will answer them to the best of my ability. Keep it G please, any question deemed unsuitable or too personal will not be answered. So please word your questions carefully.

A great resource for the Work at Home....
![]() |
| Two of the loves in my life: My husband of 14 years this December (and 22 years together this April), and one of our 4 dogs, our Bulldog mix Lucky.(Yes I took the picture, I am a photography geek.) |
Honestly how I came across the resource I could not tell you how. But I am grateful I did. The Better Women's Network, is teaching me somethings I did not know, but this network of women is also helping me enhance the skills I already use on a regular basis.
You can check them out at Better Women's Network . I got a chance to join while the membership was free, and I am glad I did. I now have the chance to start working my way through the videos, tasks, etc....
One of the questions I have been posed with to answer is, " Why were you looking for an opportunity to make money online? The second is: How did you find the Better Women's Network? The third question is: Who introduced you? Finally, What attracted you to it?
Well, let's look at the first question: Why were looking for an opportunity to make money online?
Answer: The only reason I went to working online/ at home is to be able to contribute to my household, while I look for a steady position in the community in which I reside.
I started way back in 2000 selling Avon and I sold that with very little success, and support from my inner circle.
Then in 2009, I started with Taste of Gourmet, out of Indianola, MS, as an Independent Taste of Gourmet Consultant.(www.tasteofgourmet.com/personal/NannetteMorrison.cfm - is my consultant page). I have been with them for 4 years now. I started doing this because I love to cook, and getting to know my community.
In 2010, I then took on the position of local examiner for examiner.com/tulsa, and I now have 3 titles I write under: Tahlequah Event Photography Examiner, Tulsa Event Photography Examiner, Tulsa Food Examiner. I just celebrated my 3rd anniversary with them. I try to write about local events, obscure holidays, and share my recipes on occasion.
In 2012, I took on an online boutique in the summer, through Kitsylane.com , called Nannerbugs. I curate from the stock Kitsylane carries, to put in my online boutique. I try to get the most affordable pieces curated for the storefront. ( You can find my boutique at www.nannerbugs.kitsylane.com).
I also came on with VirtualCelebration.com as a virtual event planner, after attending some events as a guest. I help people plan online events, as not to leave anyone out of the event or celebration. All us have heard this phrase when we invite someone to an event " I am sorry , but I can't make it". Well, I help do away with that by helping you put together an online event, so no matter where your guest is on earth, they can login and participate by putting together a page, and partaking in the widgets once you invite them. You can always drop me a line at nmorrison@virtualcelebration.com to learn more, or if you have an interest in becoming a a planner, I can also help you with that.
To top things off, I have two places I sell my photographic work. On redbubble (http://babybundtcake.redbubble.com/). I have this site to be able to help a family member with her daughter's travel and medical expenses, since she has care across 4 states I believe. The second site is through cafepress (http://www.cafepress.com/mssweetnessshop) to help my sorority through their transition and re-organization time.
The second question is: How did you find the Better Women's Network?
Answer:
The honest answer is I really don't know? I believe it was through facebook. It was more like it found me.
The third question is: Who introduced you?
Answer:
No one really introduced me, like I said, it was more of it found me.
The final question is: What attracted you to it?
Answer:
What attracted me to this is that it is women helping women. You are not pressured it to promoting anything, and the membership is free. I can say from experience, these women really do want to see you succeed and help you to get there. They will even get on Skype with you , if you need them to.(Lol. Pam, we know how that goes, don't we ;) ) At any point you do have the option to partake in either Global NPN or Empower Network, to which the Better Women's Network participates with. (But you do not have to, you can stay free, knowing you have a support to help you along your journey.
So, if you have the time look them up on facebook , or you can check out their website at www.betterwomensnetwork.com .
I have been challenged to invite 10 women a day to check out the Better Women's Network, so if you are interested you can find my affiliate link in the blue highlighted " Better Women's Network" above. I hope you will take time to stop by and check it out.
Have a great evening, and I will see you tomorrow.

My Soapbox Moment for the month of July....
I know most of you are tired of hearing about and seeing the postings for the online event I have going on currently. Well I know most everyone I have approached has thought it was a scam. To all the haters out there, I hate to be the one to burst your sarcastic and disbelieving bubble, but "It is not a scam!" I do not do that kind of stuff. I am a person who sees a need and helps to try to fill it, especially when an organization that is just starting out and helps the community in such a great way.
(Just because it is not a nationally recognized charity that the "Oklahoma Online Bazaar" is benefiting with it's efforts, does not mean they don't deserve recognition. So, the next time you think of charitable giving, think of starting on the local level, and give to a local non-profit, or taking part in an online event like the Bazaar. You can even have your own event, through virtual celebration.com, just drop me a line at nmorrison@virtualcelebration.com to get your event booked. $30 will get your event up through December 2012.)
When I approached most of the vendors, it is because I believe you promote or make quality product, that would be a great addition to the event. I did not expect to or deserve to be put through the wringer, bashed, etc... For the ones that know me, or want to get to know me, they will find out I have a very good, gracious, and giving heart. If it is wrong to have such a heart, then I am guilty of having a good, gracious, and giving heart.
My goal with the "Oklahoma Online Bazaar" event is to be able to make at least a $250 donation on behalf of the vendors of the event, outside of the donation widget, where people can make a donation, on the first page of the event.
Plus, this event can also get you a head start on your holiday shopping without battling the crowded parking lots and the crazies in the mall. In addition to the previously mentioned, you also get to deal directly with each vendor and their site, and have the chance to ask them questions under their forum topics within the event.
For those who would be interested in participating here is the info for review:
The decided vendor fee is: $10.00 to help cover the cost of the fee to Virtual Celebration.
The decided charity is: Pay It Forward Tahlequah.
You can find them at: http://tahlequahpayitforward.org/main.php .
You can find them on facebook at : https://www.facebook.com/groups/tahlequahpif/ .
I don't know if anyone would be interested, but I am still trying to put together a virtual event, that will feature direct sales and handmade items.
Here is the idea:
I have an idea ladies and gentleman(if there are any on here). I am putting together a virtual event, where direct sales representatives, and handmade products could be represented equally.
I have had some interest expressed. Would any of you be interested in doing something like that, with part of the fee going to charity?
What we would do would be, each of the 50 vendors would set up a page with a brief bio, and product info, testimonies, etc... and then invite their friends, families, and client base, through the invite friends link , within the event, and remind those people to invite their inner circles, etc... no matter where they live.
So, if any of you are interested, drop me a line by e-mailing me at nmorrison@virtualcelebration.com. (The fee will get this event up through December 2012, and if we have more than 50 interested, we can open up a second event to accommodate. )
It will be open to the first 25 handmade product vendors, and the first 25 direct sales vendors, and if there is more than the 50, same rules apply to the second event. I have seen though that more direct sales are interested, so I am adapting to the circumstances.
Once invited to the event, then each vendor, if they don't have one will need to set up a Free account to access the event, then they can set up their page, and start notification to people that they are up and running.
It will be up to the vendors to get the word out, the more that talk about it , hopefully will result in some good traffic. When people do their pages, if they have an outside site to link to, they will have to post the link.
Since there will hopefully be a variety, I hope it will help each of our businesses out, and if we are successful this year, I may consider turning it into a seasonal or annual event.
If you would be interested, please let me know. If you know someone who would be interested let me know.
The vendors pay the fee once they get a paypal invoice from me, and they do their payment via paypal, they will receive an email from me with the link to the event and educational links that will get you started.
I pay virtual celebration the fee.
Half of the vendor fees collected will go to a local charity here in Tahlequah.(The donation to charity will come out of my commission from Virtual Celebration that I receive as an event planner.)
I also have 3 more waiting list going for potential events later down the road. If you want to be added let me know. I am still working out the details on them.
Here is a list of the vendors I am still looking for:
So, stay tuned for more......
Pictured above is the Non-Profit Certificate of Incorporation for the group, for those who do not think they are serious about what they are doing. They are a New Upcoming Non-Profit in Tahlequah, that is doing great things to serve the community at large.
You can find them at: http://tahlequahpayitforward.org/main.php . You can find them on facebook at : https://www.facebook.com/groups/tahlequahpif/ .)

Rain, and Gigantic Pancakes, Oh My !
Yes! It is finally raining here after a streak of over a hundred for awhile. Since it is raining, I thought I would get in the kitchen and try something out of the cookbook pictured above, that my mother in law got for me for Mother's Day. The book is "Quick and Easy Family Baking- Cakes, Cookies, Pies &Breads, that Anyone Can Bake. " I have to say this book is so far holding to its word.
The recipe I decided to test out on the hubby this time was the "German Gigantic Pancake" on page 8.
Here is the recipe that I speak of :
1/2 c flour
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Powdered Sugar
Maple Syrup
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
Beat flour and eggs in bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Pour into sprayed 9-inch pie pan. Bake for 20 minutes. Pancake will puff into big bubbles while baking.
Cut into wedges and dust with powdered sugar. Serve with melted butter and maple syrup. Serves 3 to 4.
When I did this recipe in my home I did a three modifications to the recipe to fit what I had.
The first of the modifications was I added what I had left of some frozen peaches, after I cut them up while frozen. I threw them in to finish the bag off. I also used an extra egg since I had four and did not want it to go to waste.
The second of the modifications is that I used Lactose Free Milk, and it came out great. Which was even a surprise to me. But you could not tell the difference in the end product, which is great, so it can satisfy everyone's sweet tooth.
So, enjoy this recipe, more will follow. Who knows what I will test on the hubby, friends, or family next. As the fair draws near you will see what I come up with for competition, up to the turn in time. Keep your eyes peeled, More Fun to Come......To be Continued.......
